The Animal and Plant Health Agency’s National Bee Unit (NBU) informed us that they had received:
- one further report of a Yellow-Legged Hornet on 10th May from a homeowner in Lytchett Minster and Upton, Dorset. The householder killed and disposed of the hornet.
- one further report of a Yellow-Legged Hornet on 17th May from a homeowner in Maidstone, Kent. The hornet will be collected and sent to Fera Science Limited.
A report, previously shared on 1st May 2026, from Chesterfield, Derbyshire has also been reclassified as the first embryo nest of 2026.
