NBU update – 5 further credible Yellow-legged Asian hornet reports (26–28 April) in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Hampshire.
All were single hornets, and at this time of year are unlikely to be linked to nests, so no further action is planned by NBU.
Please stay vigilant:
- Report any sightings (with photo) via the Asian Hornet Watch app
- Continue sensible monitoring (no kill traps)
- Focus on high-risk sites (transport routes, timber, garden centres, apiaries)
- Do not attempt tracking or nest searches unless asked by NBU
Good reminder that queens are active now – early reporting is key.
