As of 16th October, the Animal and Plant Health Agency’s National Bee Unit (NBU) informed us that they have received further credible reports of YLH’s. This means that currently there has been a total of 519 sightings in 2025.
Since the last update, 6 more nests have been discovered.

Ringstead (believed to be linked to the Osmington sighting reported a fortnight ago)
As of 16th October, 149 confirmed nests have been found this year.
The NBU are following up the other credible reports and anticipate finding further nests.
We reported that a nest had been found in Northiam last week. We said that this was in Kent, but it was actually in East Sussex. Apologies for this error.
