As of 20 August, the Animal and Plant Health Agency\u2019s National Bee Unit (NBU) has received further credible reports of YLH. To date there have been 145 sightings in 2026 resulting in the identification of 41 nests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nests confirmed this week are recorded in the following locations:
Dorset
\u2022 Littlebredy (secondary nest)
Greater Manchester
\u2022 Chadderton, Oldham (secondary nest)
Hampshire
\u2022 Romsey (secondary nest)
Kent
\u2022 Wye (secondary nest)
\u2022 Petham Hide (primary nest)
\u2022 Ramsgate (primary nest)
\u2022 Hollingbourne (secondary nest)
\u2022 Sittingbourne (secondary nest)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following nests are awaiting destruction: Wye, Ramsgate, Hollingbourne and Sittingbourne in Kent; Littlebredy in Dorset; Romsey in Hampshire; and Chadderton in Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NBU are carrying out monitoring and track and trace in locations across Hampshire, Greater Manchester, Kent and Lincolnshire. Multiple sightings are being monitored by beekeepers and local Yellow-legged hornet teams.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
