As of 13 August, the Animal and Plant Health Agency\u2019s National Bee Unit (NBU) has informed us that it has received further credible reports of YLH. To date there have been 120 sightings in 2026 resulting in the identification of 33 nests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nests confirmed this week are recorded in the following locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kent
\u2022 Royal Tunbridge Wells (primary nest)
\u2022 Royal Tunbridge Wells (secondary nest)
\u2022 Buttsole (secondary nest)
\u2022 Great Chart, Ashford (primary nest)
\u2022 Great Chart, Ashford (secondary nest)
\u2022 Ramsgate (secondary nest)
\u2022 Elm\u2019s Vale (secondary nest)
\u2022 Wootton (secondary nest)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Surrey
\u2022 Bletchingley (secondary nest)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By the end of the day, all nests should be destroyed. (Friday 14th)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NBU are carrying out monitoring and track and trace in locations across Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Greater Manchester and Kent. Multiple sightings are being monitored by beekeepers and local Yellow-legged hornet teams.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
